Appliance Fault Codes

What that error code means — and what you can safely check

LG washing machine LE error code

LE means motor lock / overload. On LG washing machines (unlike some other brands) LE means the motor was forced to stop or overloaded — often a mechanical jam or motor fault.

Often fixable at home · Fault type: Electrical/hardware

Safe checks, in order of likelihood

  1. Unplug, wait 1 minute, and restart to clear a one-off trip.
  2. Check the drum turns freely by hand with the machine off.
  3. Check for a burning smell — if present, stop and unplug.
