Hotpoint dishwashers show F-number codes (and flashing LED combinations on some models). F01–F15 cover water, heating, pump and control-board faults; F03 (drain failure) and F06 (fill timeout) are the most commonly fixable at home.
| Code | Meaning | Severity | First action |
|---|---|---|---|
| F01 | Anti-flooding overflow | Often fixable at home | Water has been detected in the base pan — the anti-flooding switch circuit is open when it should be closed. |
| F02 | Water fill solenoid valve failure | Often fixable at home | The inlet valve circuit has failed, so the machine cannot take water in correctly. |
| F03 | Water drain failure / timeout | Often fixable at home | The machine could not drain within the expected time — a blockage or a failed drain pump. |
| F04 | Thermostat fault | Often fixable at home | The wash thermostat circuit has failed, so wash temperature cannot be regulated. |
| F06 | Water fill timeout | Often fixable at home | The fill did not complete in the expected time — low pressure or a restricted fill hose. |
| F07 | Water turbine damaged | Often fixable at home | The flowmeter turbine that measures water taken in is damaged or stuck. |
| F08 | Temperature timeout fault | Often fixable at home | The wash water did not reach the expected temperature in the expected time. |
| F09 | Software error | Often fixable at home | The control software has reported an internal error. |
| F10 | Heating element fault | Often fixable at home | The heating element circuit has failed, so the water cannot be heated to wash or dry properly. |
| F11 | Wash pump failure | Often fixable at home | The wash pump has failed or is blocked, so water is not circulated to the spray arms. |
| F12 | Main board and display communication error | Often fixable at home | The main board and the display board have lost communication. |
| F13 | Main board fault | Often fixable at home | The main control board has detected an internal fault. |
| F15 | Virtual sensor error | Often fixable at home | A software-simulated sensor has reported an out-of-range value. |
Safety first
Unplug before any check. Never open panels beyond the filter flap. Anything involving internal wiring, the heater or gas must go to a professional — see each code page for its "call a professional when" line.
