4C means water inlet fault. No water is entering the machine, or the fill is too slow. Older equivalent: 4E (and E1 on some models).

- Check the tap behind the machine is fully open.
- Unscrew the inlet hose at the machine end and clean the mesh filter in the hose nut.
- Check the hose is not kinked or crushed.
